About Me
Short on time? Check out the TL;DR version
Hi! I’m Michele. I’m a therapist, and also a lifelong gamer—Super Mario, League of Legends, and Baldur’s Gate are among my favorites. But D&D? That’s my lifeblood. My favorite character is a barbarian who helps me channel frustration and anger—emotions my recovering people-pleaser self once struggled to express. I also spent years as an overachiever who tied my worth to how much I did for others—saying ‘yes’ too often, chasing perfection, and feeling guilty for needing rest. Being a mom to two amazing little boys has both tested and expanded my progress, pushing me to let go of perfection, set boundaries, and rest without guilt.
Starting my career as a medical social worker on interdisciplinary teams, I saw firsthand how healthcare professionals pour everything into their patients, often at the cost of their own well-being (raise your hand with me if you’ve gone a whole shift without a single bathroom break✋). I know what it’s like to care deeply about your work while feeling stuck in a system that takes more than it gives. The long hours, endless documentation, and impossible expectations can leave even the most hardworking and caring people wondering how much more they can give. I do this work because I’ve seen the toll it takes when dedicated healthcare professionals don’t have the support they need. I help my clients break free from the cycle of self-sacrifice—showing them that caring for themselves doesn’t just lead to better patient outcomes and workplace relationships, but also a more fulfilling, sustainable life.
I’ve always been fascinated by the brain—how it adapts, heals, and plays a central role in our ability to manage stress and regulate emotions. My love for neuroscience led me to complete a certificate in Neuropsychotherapy (NPT-C®), deepening my understanding of how the nervous system shapes mental health. I’ve also trained in EMDR and provided neurofeedback alongside therapy, witnessing firsthand how targeted brain-based interventions can create lasting change. While I don’t currently offer neurofeedback, my own life-changing experience using it after a brain injury and PTSD reinforced my passion for integrating neuroscience into my practice. Understanding our nervous systems is key to breaking free from stress-driven cycles and building real, sustainable change. (And yes, my logo features a brain, and ‘Pathways’ in my practice name nods to neural pathways—because I can’t resist geeking out over the science of transformation and growth!)
